WHAT IS FLOWVEMBER?
Period products are one of the most requested but least donated items for people experiencing homelessness.
For our 4th annual menstrual FLOWvember event, we're raising money to build 1000 hygiene kits with a special focus on period poverty.
Join us online on Sunday, November 15th to build hygiene kits, write notes of encouragement for recipients, and hear from speakers about how we can advocate for our neighbors experiencing homelessness.
Volunteers will pick-up supplies via no-contact drive-thru and build their hygiene kits at home while participating in our online FLOWvember event! After returning the completed kits they will be distributed by one of our partner outreach organizations.
HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?
WHAT IS A HYGIENE KIT?
A hygiene kit is a 3-in-1 tool.
A hygiene kit contains basic hygiene items that provide our neighbors experiencing homelessness with tools to maintain their health and sense of dignity.
Our non-profit partners use hygiene kits as a first step in their outreach & relationship-building.
Assembling hygiene kits is an impactful hands-on volunteer opportunity to build empathy and advocacy within our housed community.
Our kits contain: toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap, bath wipes, a first-aid kit, toilet paper, bottled water, a snack, a pair of socks, menstrual products, a mask, and a note of encouragement.
HOW DOES THIS WORK?
WHERE DOES MY DONATION GO?
Our hygiene kits will be donated to
NoHo Home Alliance, a drop-in program where people experiencing homelessness get connected to housing, healthcare, emergency services, food, clothing, hot showers, mail services, and most of all: dignity and care.
Los Angeles Community Fridges is a network of decentralized, independent refrigerators and pantries that provide food and vital supplies to our communities through mutual aid.
